HAWANA Fun Walk 2026 Registration Open To Media And Public Until May 15

KUALA LUMPUR, May 6 (Bernama) -- The HAWANA Fun Walk 2026 programme, held for the first time in conjunction with the National Journalists' Day (HAWANA) celebration, is now open for public registration until May 15.

The leisurely walk programme, organised by the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), will take place at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa on June 14, and aims to bring together the community and media practitioners while promoting a healthy lifestyle in a relaxed and community-friendly atmosphere.

Bernama Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin said that the HAWANA celebration is not just about celebrating media friends but also serves as a platform that unites industry members through the spirit of togetherness and solidarity.

"We not only deliver news to the public but also support efforts to cultivate a healthy lifestyle in line with government health programmes.

"Therefore, the HAWANA Fun Walk reflects the spirit of media practitioners who are always moving forward, active, positive and united," she said.

Nur-ul Afida, who is also the the HAWANA 2026 Working Committee chairperson, said that the programme, which is also open to the public, provides an opportunity for the community to interact and get to know the job field in the media industry more closely.

"For me, every step in the HAWANA Fun Walk symbolises the spirit of cooperation and harmony in the country's media industry," she said.

Members of the public who are interested can register by scanning the QR code provided on the official poster or by registering through the website https://hawana.my/hawanafunwalk/. Participation is limited and early registration is highly encouraged.

With a registration fee of RM30, participants not only have the chance to win lucky draw prizes but also receive a T-shirt, medal and exclusive bag. Participation items can be collected at the lobby of Wisma Bernama on June 13 from 10 am to 4 pm.

In addition to the Fun Walk, the HAWANA 2026 celebration organised by the Ministry of Communications with Bernama as the implementing agency also features various other events including a media forum, a pantun festival, exhibitions and a sports carnival.

The summit of the HAWANA 2026 celebration will take place in Penang on June 20 and is scheduled to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
