WASHINGTON, May 6 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- CNN founder Ted Turner has died at the age of 87, the broadcaster reported on Wednesday, citing a news release from Turner Enterprises, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
The outlet did not provide any details about the cause of death.
Turner was a United States (US) entrepreneur, television producer and philanthropist.
In 1980, he founded CNN, the first 24-hour cable news channel.
