Thai, Russian Foreign Ministers Discuss Cooperation In Tourism And Energy

MOSCOW, May 15 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed bilateral cooperation in tourism, energy and food security on the sidelines of the BRICS foreign ministers’ meeting (FMM) in New Delhi, the Thai Foreign Ministry said on Friday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

"Sihasak Phuangketkeow met with H.E. Sergey Lavrov, Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, on the sidelines of the BRICS FMM in New Delhi, and discussed expanding cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, tourism, energy, food security," the ministry wrote on X.

The two top diplomats reviewed the close, long-standing relations between the two nations, which will mark their 130th anniversary in 2027, and discussed potential celebrations, the ministry added.

The ministers also exchanged views on the situation in Myanmar and discussed coordination on multilateral platforms, including the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)-Russia cooperation and BRICS, the ministry said.
