KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 (Bernama) -- AmanahRaya Investment Management Sdn Bhd (ARIM) has contributed RM42,280 to support the needs and welfare of 113 elderly residents at Rumah Seri Kenangan Pengkalan Chepa in Kelantan.
The contribution was channelled through the “Lentera Kasih ARIM” community engagement initiative held today, which forms part of the asset management company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme to support the senior citizens.
ARIM chairman Mohd Razlan Mohamed said the programme was not merely a CSR initiative, but also served as an ideal platform for the company to engage with the community in a more meaningful and personal manner.
“We believe sustainability encompasses not only business continuity, but also social responsibility that must progress hand in hand. Therefore, ARIM remains committed to expanding initiatives like this so that more communities can benefit,” he said in a statement today.
He said meaningful support was not solely measured through material contributions, but also through presence, care and the relationships built with the community, while expressing hope that the programme would bring joy to the residents and appreciate the experiences and life stories shared together.
Activities held during the programme included a meet-and-greet session, recreational activities and batik colouring, jointly carried out by 30 ARIM employee volunteers together with the residents and caregivers at the home.
Also present to witness the programme was Kelantan Social Welfare Department Assistant Director of the Persons with Disabilities and Senior Citizens Division Anuar Che Mahmood, representing the department’s director-general.
