At Least 3 People Killed In Large-scale Drone Attack On Moscow Region - Governor

MOSCOW, May 17 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- At least 3 people were killed in a large-scale drone attack on Moscow Region, the region's governor, Andrei Vorobyov, said, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

"Starting at 3:00 a.m. [midnight GMT], air defence forces have been repelling a major drone attack on the Moscow region. Two men died in the village of Pogorelki (Mytishchi). There, drone debris struck a building under construction," Vorobyov said on Max.

One woman died after a drone struck a house in Khimki, and one person remains under rubble, the governor added.

Apartment buildings were hit in the city of Krasnogorsk with no casualties, and in the Istra City District, where four people were injured, he noted.

The drones also targeted infrastructure facilities in several municipalities, Vorobyov said.
