HARBIN (China), May 17 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- China has remained Russia's largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years, Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing said at the opening ceremony of the 10th Russia-China Expo in Harbin, reported Sputnik.
"Under the strategic leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian-Chinese comprehensive partnership of coordination in the new era is functioning at a high level and demonstrating steady progress, yielding fruitful results in cooperation across various fields," Zhang said.
According to the vice premier, "this has brought more stability and certainty to the volatile international situation."
"China has remained Russia's largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years," the Chinese vice premier stressed.
He noted that the parties were implementing a number of major projects, cross-border transport links are rapidly developing, new areas of cooperation were demonstrating promising results, and cooperation between northeast China and the Russian Far East was deepening.
The 10th Russia-China Expo is being held in Harbin, China, from May 17 to 21, covering an area of 12,000 square metres. Sixteen Russian regions are participating. This year, the expo's slogan is "Trust. Cooperation. Mutual Benefit."
