KUALA LUMPUR, June 13 (Bernama) -- ‘Chelot’, an upcoming action film directed by Adrian Teh, has made Malaysian film history after receiving recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records for the ‘Longest Single-Take Action Sequence in a Movie’ category.

In a statement issued today, the production team said the record was achieved through an unedited action sequence filmed with a single camera, covering a distance of 1.9 kilometres and running for five minutes and 19 seconds.

"This is a rare achievement in the local film industry as it requires an exceptionally high level of technical precision," the team said.

According to the statement, the sequence was brought to life with the involvement of 300 crew members, 150 days of preparation, 60 hours of rehearsals and the use of 50 prop vehicles.

‘Chelot’ is produced by ACT 2 Pictures, Golden Screen Cinemas, Astro Shaw, SunStrong Entertainment and Marvelous Culture & Film. A teaser poster featuring Beto Kusyairy and Shukri Yahaya was also unveiled recently.

In the same statement, Teh said his return to the action genre following the 2022 film ‘MALBATT: Misi Bakara’ was not simply about revisiting familiar territory but about offering something fresh to local audiences.

‘Chelot’ is scheduled to hit cinemas this August.
