KANGAR, June 17 (Bernama) -- The Women In Search Of Excellence (WiSE) programme is not just a platform for knowledge-sharing, but also serves as a catalyst for empowering women entrepreneurs to transform small enterprises into competitive businesses capable of expanding into broader markets.
The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, said the initiative provides women entrepreneurs with opportunities to strengthen business capabilities, expand professional networks and develop the skills needed to navigate today’s increasingly challenging economic landscape.
Through a comprehensive entrepreneurial ecosystem, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said the programme encourages participants to move beyond traditional business boundaries and unlock greater economic potential.
“I am confident and believe that programmes such as this will produce more women entrepreneurs who are bold in creating opportunities, strengthening family economies and making meaningful contributions to the development of the state and the country,” he said.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin said this when opening a WiSE 2026 programme themed “Elevating Women, Empowering Communities” at the Bakawali Hall, PDRM Senior Officers’ Mess, here last night.
Also accompanying the Raja Muda of Perlis was the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil.
The Raja Muda of Perlis described the programme as a strategic initiative born out of close collaboration between Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) and Yayasan Tuanku Fauziah (YTF) to strengthen women’s economic participation and reinforce their role as drivers of community development.
He also called on women across the country to continue moving forward with confidence, courage and determination, stressing that women are not only the backbone of family institutions but also valuable contributors to national economic growth and progress.
“Hopefully, more women will emerge as creators of opportunities, agents of change and leaders of success who elevate the country’s standing on the global stage. I believe Malaysian women will continue to serve as catalysts for building a more advanced, prosperous and competitive society,” he said.
Earlier, MARA Director-General Datuk Zulfikri Osman, in his speech, said that the WiSE programme was introduced by the Raja Muda of Perlis in 2023 as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen women’s entrepreneurial development.
