Media Practitioners, ASEAN Delegates Arrive For HAWANA 2026 Summit

BUTTERWORTH, June 20 (Bernama) -- Media practitioners, invited guests and strategic partners from across Malaysia and the ASEAN region began arriving at the PICCA@Arena Butterworth Convention Centre here today for the National Journalists' Day (HAWANA) 2026 Summit.

Some took the opportunity to visit exhibition booths and a special photo gallery at the convention centre foyer, while others reconnected with colleagues from various media organisations amid their busy work schedules.

The attendance of media representatives and delegates from ASEAN countries also highlights HAWANA's role in promoting regional cooperation among media practitioners.

The HAWANA 2026 Summit, themed 'Media Integrity Strengthens Credibility', will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and is expected to bring together about 1,000 media practitioners.

Organised by the Ministry of Communications through the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) as the implementing agency, HAWANA serves as a key platform to recognise the dedication, professionalism and contributions of media practitioners in delivering accurate, verified and credible information to the public.
