Bund Collapse Leaves 32 Houses Flooded In Banting

SHAH ALAM, June 25 (Bernama) -- Thirty-two houses in Taman Langat Utama 2, RTB Bukit Changgang, Banting, were affected by flooding after a river bund located about 800 metres from the residential area burst last night.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the incident occurred at about 11 pm, with most residents having already evacuated the area.

However, he said the department received an emergency call at 4.12 am, prompting six officers and personnel from the Banting station to be deployed to the scene, where they arrived at 4.35 am to carry out monitoring and relief operations.

"The Fire and Rescue Department has also advised residents who are still in the affected area to immediately move to safer locations as a precautionary measure," he said in a statement today.
