KUALA LUMPUR, June 29 (Bernama) -- Jati Tinggi Group Bhd (JTGB) has clinched an RM86 million contract to undertake the design and construction of a 275-kilovolt (kV) overhead transmission line and related power infrastructure for a data centre in Kapar, Selangor.
The engineering services provider said its wholly owned subsidiary Jati Tinggi Holding Sdn Bhd today accepted a letter of award (LOA) from a Malaysian company primarily involved in computer consultancy, data processing, the provision of hosting infrastructure, data processing services and related activities.
“The contract sum for the works will be RM86 million, inclusive of sales and service tax,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
JTGB said the contract includes civil and structural works, conductor installation, geographic information system (GIS) interface works, landing station equipment, remote-end equipment supply, system integration, and testing.
It also covers the final handover for the commercial operation of the data centre at Klang Valley Technology Park.
JTGB said the contract will run from the date of possession of the project site until Sept 30, 2026.
It said the LOA is expected to contribute positively to the group's earnings, earnings per share and net assets per share over the contract’s duration.
“The LOA will not have any effect on the share capital and the shareholdings of the substantial shareholders of the company,” it added.
On risks, JTGB said it is not aware of any material risk factors arising from the LOA, apart from the usual operational risks associated with such contracts.
It added that none of its directors, major shareholders or persons connected with them has any direct or indirect interest in the LOA.
