RTM INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS SECTION ASSISTANT DIRECTOR KHAIRUL AZLI DIES

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 (Bernama) -- Assistant Director of the International Relations Section at Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Khairul Azli Rahim has passed away at the age of 45 due to a brain haemorrhage.

The late Khairul Azli, fondly known as Kerol, died at 5.16 pm today at the Intensive Care Unit of Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL), where he had been receiving treatment since Nov 25.

The news of the former RTM News editor’s passing was confirmed by his nephew, Mohd Fazrudi Mohd Rohdzi, when contacted by Bernama.

According to Mohd Fazrudi, Khairul Azli’s remains would be taken to his hometown in Alor Setar, Kedah.

“Funeral prayers will be held at Masjid Alor Pak Ngah, Alor Setar, followed by the burial at the Tualang Muslim Cemetery tomorrow afternoon,” he said.

Meanwhile, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, in a Facebook post, expressed his sorrow over the loss of another dedicated media practitioner.

He described the late Khairul Azli, a former journalist and editor in the TV newsroom, as a person who had served with great excellence and was well-liked by his colleagues.

“I pray that his family and friends are granted strength and patience in facing this loss.

“May Allah SWT bless his soul and place him among the righteous,” he said.
