KOTA BHARU, Dec 21 (Bernama) -- Kelantan Red Warrior FC (KRW FC) requires RM2 million in funding to compete in next season's Malaysia League (M-League), according to KRW FC president Nik Hafiz Naim Nik Hassan.
He said this includes the cost of hiring star players for the team to play in the A1 League of the M-League.
“A majority of the 116 investors previously with Kelantan FC have expressed their interest to join KRW FC.
"My fellow investors and I, who previously financed Kelantan FC, now want to support KRW FC to continue building this team," he told reporters after the signing ceremony and launch of KRW FC Football Club here today.
He said several companies have also agreed to partner with KRW FC as sponsors and collaborators to strengthen the team's finances.
Nik Hafiz Naim added that they are applying to the Malaysia Football League (MFL) for KRW FC to participate in next season's A1 League competition.
"KRW FC represents our effort to bring back Kelantan The Red Warriors FC (TRW FC), which has disappeared from Malaysia's football scene," he added.
