MBI-BIZAPP Collaborate To Empower 50,000 MSMEs In Selangor

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- Bizapp Ventures Sdn Bhd (BIZAPP) and Selangor Menteri Besar (Incorporated) (MBI) have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation, aimed at empowering 50,000 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Selangor to transition to digital operations, over the next five years.

BIZAPP chief executive officer Mohd Jefrey Aman, in a statement, said that through the POS (Point of Sales)-PLATS (Selangor Platform) initiative, the company has developed and provided the BIZAPPOS system to support PLATS entrepreneurs.

He explained that the POS system comes equipped with specialised devices designed to enhance traders' daily sales activities, including inventory management functions and the ability to accept cashless payments through credit and debit cards, QR codes, and digital wallets.

“This collaboration is particularly timely, as the POS-PLATS system initiative is essential for realising the Selangor government's agenda of achieving a cash-free society within five years.

“As a local technology company, we are proud that MBI has chosen BIZAPP to make this agenda a success,” he said in the statement.

With over eight years of experience in the digital industry and a proven track record of assisting nearly 700,000 entrepreneurs, he expressed confidence that the company would excel in supporting this MBI initiative.

The signing ceremony for the cooperation memorandum and the launch of the new PLATS-POS system initiative were witnessed and officiated by the Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, in conjunction with the 9th Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention (SDEC), held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

MBI was represented by the Head of the MBI Foundation, Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor, while BIZAPP was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Jefrey Aman.
