Bursa Bull Charge Unites Corporate, Capital Market Players, Aims to Raise RM1 Mln

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 23 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia’s flagship corporate charity run - the Bursa Bull Charge (BBC2024) - returns for its eighth edition and continues to bring together corporate sector and capital market participants to run for a good cause.

The BBC2024, to be held on Oct 26, is expected to raise about RM1 million, which will support six beneficiaries, namely Aqufish Ltd, Eats Shoots and Roots, Proladang PLT, Silent Teddies Bakery, Treat Every Environment Special (TrEES), and Zero Waste Malaysia.

“The funds will be used to support these organisations in driving conservation efforts, advancing zero-waste practices, and empowering marginalised communities.

“This aligns with Bursa Malaysia’s broader objective of fostering a more sustainable and resilient marketplace, as well as Malaysia’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 13 – Climate Action,” the bourse said in a statement today.

Since its launch in 2014, the Bursa Bull Charge has rallied over 12,000 runners and raised more than RM18 million, benefiting over 170 charities and organisations across Malaysia.

This year, the BBC2024 ‘Run the Talk’ excitement continues with a fresh experience as the event is held at night, with runners enjoying the iconic sights and skyline of Kuala Lumpur’s central business district under the stars and with the city lights.

The BBC2024 will feature two categories: the one-mile (1.6 km) CEO Dash and the 5km Individual Run, with over 700 participants from more than 70 corporations.

The BBC 2024 will take into account carbon emissions arising from the event by conducting a carbon footprint assessment post-event and offsetting the carbon being emitted via the purchase of high-quality, verified carbon credits, making it once again a carbon-neutral event.

The BBC2024 is supported by the Retirement Fund Inc.; Genting Group; SD Guthrie; Tenaga Nasional Bhd; TRX City Sdn Bhd; YTL Corporation Bhd; and TA ANN Holdings Bhd, among others.
