re:Invent 2024: AWS Launches US$100 Mln Commitment For Digital Learning Solutions

From Anas Abu Hassan

LAS VEGAS, Dec 5 (Bernama) -- Amazon Web Services Inc (AWS) has pledged up to US$100 million (US$1=RM4.40) in cloud credits under the AWS Education Equity Initiative over the next five years to help qualified education organisations around the world to build or scale digital learning solutions.

The new programme will provide recipients with cloud credits, enabling them to take advantage of AWS's comprehensive portfolio of cloud technology and advanced artificial intelligence (AI) services to create innovations.

“They can also receive technical expertise from AWS Solution Architects who will provide architectural guidance, best practices for responsible AI implementation, and ongoing optimisation support.

“AWS is already working with more than 50 organisations from 10 countries, enabling them to use advanced technologies to bring digital learning solutions to underserved and underrepresented communities,” said the company in a statement in conjunction with AWS re:Invent 2024 here, Wednesday.

The AWS Education Equity Initiative builds on Amazon.com Inc and AWS’s longstanding commitment to unlock education and career opportunities for underserved learners.

With the addition of the AWS Education Equity Initiative, the company will be able to help non-profits, education technology companies, social enterprises, governments, and corporate social responsibility teams to expand access to learning and development opportunities to underrepresented and underserved communities, said the company.
