Uzma Secures RM44.15 Million Contract From Samaiden

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 19 (Bernama) -- Uzma Bhd’s direct wholly-owned subsidiary, Uzma Environergy Sdn Bhd (UENV), has been awarded a contract worth RM44.15 million from Samaiden Sdn Bhd.

It said this involved sub-contract works for a 13.42 megawatts (MWac) Solar Photovoltaic Plant located in Sungai Petani, Kedah.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Uzma said the project will be developed under the Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP) administered by the Energy Commission.  

“The scope of the works comprises the development of the solar generating facility, including the power generation company’s (Genco) interconnection facility, interconnector, and the Genco works as defined in the connection agreement entered into between Tenaga Nasional Bhd and the Genco.

“The contract duration is eight months 14 days, and the scheduled commercial operation date is Aug 30, 2025,” it said.

Uzma said the contract will not have any effect on the company's share capital and shareholding structure.

“However, it is expected to contribute positively towards the earnings and net assets per share of the company for the financial year ending June 30, 2025 and onwards until the expiry of the contract,” it said.
