Maybank Offers Financial Relief For Flood Victims In Sarawak, Sabah

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 31 (Bernama) -- Maybank has reiterated its commitment to assist individuals and small and medium enterprise (SME) customers affected by the recent heavy rainfall and floods in Sarawak and Sabah through its Flood Relief Assistance programme. 

In a statement today, the bank confirmed that the relief assistance remains available nationwide, aimed at alleviating the financial burden on impacted Maybank customers. 

“Maybank Flood Relief Assistance is designed to address the challenges faced by flood victims and will include, amongst others, deferment of financing/loan repayment, a reduction in monthly instalment or extension of repayment tenure,” it said. 

Additionally, Maybank is offering a waiver of fees and charges for selected services, such as the replacement of lost or damaged debit cards, ATM cards, or cheque books. 

Customers can apply for assistance via email at floodrelief@maybank.com, or by visiting or calling any of the branches, commercial banking centres, or auto finance centres nationwide. 

“For SME customers, we encourage them to contact their relationship managers for support,” it added. 

Meanwhile, Maybank Group’s insurance arm, Etiqa, has implemented a streamlined claims process for its policyholders and takaful certificate holders, requiring no forms or supporting documents.
