Mavenir Chosen By Tampnet For Major Global 4G/5G Network Transformation

KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 (Bernama) -- Mavenir, the cloud-native network infrastructure provider, has been selected as a key technology partner by Tampnet, a global leader in offshore high-capacity connectivity, low-latency connectivity and network services.

Following a rigorous selection process, the Norway-based offshore connectivity provider has chosen Mavenir’s state-of-the-art Converged Packet Core solution for immediate deployment across its global 4G/5G network, according to a statement.

Mavenir President of Core Networks, Ashok Khuntia, emphasised the shared vision to revolutionise offshore telecommunications by enhancing network agility, resilience, and innovation.

Meanwhile, Tampnet Chief Architect, Øyvind Skjervik highlighted the partnership as a major step in advancing global connectivity and digital services.

Tampnet, which operates the largest offshore communication network in the North Sea and Gulf of America, is migrating from its previous core technology providers in Europe and the Americas to Mavenir’s cloud-native platform.

This strategic partnership will enable Tampnet to deliver innovative 5G services, including enhanced mobile broadband, ultra-reliable low-latency communications, and massive machine-type communications.

Mavenir’s containerised solution supports a seamless transition across 4G, 5G Non-Standalone (NSA), 5G Standalone (SA) networks, and introduction of 5G Standalone (SA), while laying the foundation for future 6G capabilities.

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI)-driven automation and energy-efficient network management in Mavenir’s platform is expected to optimise network performance, lower operational costs, and enable hyper-personalised services for Tampnet’s diverse customer base.

Mavenir’s fully containerised, cloud-native architecture offers scalability, portability, and resilience across all cloud environments, ensuring a modernised, flexible network infrastructure capable of meeting evolving industry demands.
