GWM Brazil Plant Marks Milestone In Chinese Automotive Trust And Tech

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 (Bernama) -- GWM, a Chinese automotive brand, has officially launched production at its Brazil plant, marking a major step in the company’s global strategy and a defining moment for Chinese intelligent manufacturing abroad.

According to GWM in a statement, the plant achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification before production, passing with zero non-conformities, ensuring globally consistent high standards in design and manufacturing.

GWM President, Mu Feng emphasised the company’s commitment to sustainable and intelligent mobility, highlighting the brand’s Hi4 hybrid technology, four-wheel drive systems, and green manufacturing pathways, including hydrogen.

With production now underway, the first batch of Brazilian consumers are already experiencing GWM’s intelligent, efficient, and reliable mobility solutions, redefining the trust model for Chinese cars in the global market.

The first-phase production lineup includes the GWM HAVAL H6 hybrid sport utility vehicle (SUV), the GWM POER 2.4T pickup, and the GWM HAVAL H9 seven-seat SUV, precisely tailored to meet the Latin American market’s demand for intelligent features, energy efficiency, and off-road performance.

More than just cars, the plant is building trust through local job creation, community partnerships, and a digital user ecosystem that includes expanded service networks and real-time customer support tailored to Brazilian expectations.

The GWM Brazil Plant signals a shift from “Made in China” to “Intelligently Made in China”, positioning GWM not only as a manufacturer but also as a long-term mobility partner for Latin America.
