Bermaz Auto Raises RM130 Mln In Sukuk Wakalah

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 25 (Bernama) -- Bermaz Auto Bhd (BAuto) has issued a second tranche of Islamic Medium-Term Notes (IMTNs) worth RM130 million under its RM500 million Sukuk Wakalah programme and fully repaid a RM100 million Islamic Commercial Paper (ICP).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said the IMTNs carry a three-year tenure from the issuance date.

“The proceeds may be utilised by BAuto, its subsidiaries and associates for Shariah-compliant purposes, including refinancing existing borrowings, working capital and investment needs,” it said.

The latest issuance follows the first RM100 million IMTN raised in December 2020, which was repaid in full at maturity in December 2023.

BAuto also settled its sixth tranche of ICPs under the RM500 million Sukuk Wakalah CP Programme, issued in March 2025 with a six-month tenure, upon maturity today.

The company said none of its directors, major shareholders or connected parties has any direct or indirect interest in the Sukuk Wakalah programmes.
