Gold Futures End Higher, Tracking Gains In US COMEX

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 9 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher on Friday, tracking gains in US COMEX.

The new spot-month January 2026 contract rose to US$4,485.40 per troy ounce from US$4,440.70 on Thursday, February 2026 increased to US$4,502.20 per troy ounce from US$4,457.20, and March 2026 improved to US$4,520.10 per troy ounce from US$4,475.20.

The April, June and August 2026 contracts were also higher, settling at US$4,538.10 per troy ounce compared with US$4,493.20 previously.

Trading volume fell to 141 lots from 239 lots yesterday, while open interest decreased to 238 contracts from 315 contracts.

Physical gold was fixed at US$4,429.35 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association afternoon fix on Jan 8, 2026.
