Gold Price Dips Below US$4,700 Per Troy Ounce For 1st Time Since Feb 6
MOSCOW, March 19 (Bernama-Sputni/RIA Novosti) -- Gold exchange prices fell 4 per cent on Thursday, dipping below US$4,700 per troy ounce, Sputnik/RIA Novosti reported, citing trading data.
As of 08:47 GMT, April gold futures on the New York Comex were down US$193.65 from the prior close, or 3.96 per cent to US$4,702.55 per troy ounce. Minutes earlier, the benchmark hit a low of US$4,688.46, marking the first time it had fallen below US$4,700 since Feb 6.
As of 08:14 GMT, April platinum futures had dropped 6.43 per cent, trading at US$1,924.3 per troy ounce for the first time since Feb 17, trading data showed.
As of 08:15 GMT, June palladium futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) had declined 5.65 per cent to US$1,449.75 per troy ounce, having earlier touched US$1,442.25, marking the lowest level since Dec 10, 2025.
