KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 (Bernama) -- Unstable weather conditions have led to an increase in flood evacuees in three states, while the flood situation in two others has shown signs of improvement as of 8 pm today.

The National Disaster Command Centre of the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) reported that in PERAK, the number of victims housed at 12 temporary relief centres (PPS) has risen to 1,587 from 1,459 this afternoon.

A similar situation was observed in PERLIS, where the number of evacuees increased to 47 from 28, while in SELANGOR, the number of people taking shelter at PPS rose slightly to 117 from 105 earlier today.

Meanwhile, in KEDAH, the flood is gradually receding, with 137 victims still housed at one PPS in the Kota Setar district, down from 203 this afternoon.

In PAHANG, the number of victims at six PPS in the Temerloh district has decreased to 1,418 from 1,616 this afternoon.
