Misha Omar To Reunite With Fans

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 15 (Bernama) – Three years after her memorable solo performance at Istana Budaya, Misha Omar is set to reconnect with her fans at the ‘’Misha Omar Back To Basic Showcase’, taking place on Dec 21 at Odeum At Jiospace, Petaling Jaya.

The 42-year-old singer, whose real name is Samihah @ Aisah Omar, shared that while the showcase is modest in scale, it holds special significance as a heartfelt gesture of gratitude to her loyal fans who have steadfastly supported her throughout her two-decade-long career.

“Why opt for a small-scale showcase instead of a mega concert? I believe in starting with small steps before achieving bigger milestones.

“This showcase is dedicated to the fans who have consistently asked when I would perform live for them again,” she said in a statement today.

The Kelantan-born artiste added that this event would serve as a prelude to a larger concert, a long-held dream she aspires to realise in the future.

“Interestingly, I am a singer who doesn’t emphasise the length of time I’ve been in the industry to justify holding a concert. I prefer to work progressively. Who knows, starting with this small-scale showcase might pave the way for a grand concert in the future. Let’s hope for the best together.

 “As an entertainer who has been in the music scene for two decades and still remains relevant, it would be untruthful to say that I don’t dream of hosting a mega concert,” she said.

Misha went on to explain that the 90-minute showcase is designed to take the audience back to her roots as a singer, aligning with the theme of the Misha Omar Back To Basic Showcase.

 “I want to take my fans back to the time when I was just starting to make a name for myself as a singer after signing my first contract with a major record label in 2002.

“I cherish moments of singing on small stages like Planet Hollywood, performing songs by other entertainers who gave me the trust and inspiration to keep creating,” she shared.

The showcase, organised by Double M Productions, will feature Datuk Syafinaz Selamat as the vocal director, Jennifer Thompson as the director, Simon Khoo as the technical director, and Ayop Azril as the music director, leading a nine-piece band.
