KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 20 (Bernama) -- IAQ Solutions Sdn Bhd received the ‘Builder of the Year’ Award at the Malaysian Construction Industry Excellence Awards (MCIEA) 2024, in recognition of the Robert Bosch testing manufacturing plant project.

IAQ Solutions chief executive officer Tiew Soon Aik said the award is a symbol of recognition for the company’s hard work and dedication since its establishment, as well as a milestone that reflects its ongoing commitment to innovation, quality, and excellence in high-tech construction.

“This is the time that the appreciation was given by the industry to us as a part of the builders in this sector in Malaysia.

“IAQ was established back in 1994. We served most of the multinational corporations (MNC) that come and invest in the country, including all the high-tech companies, especially semiconductor companies,” he told Bernama recently.

He said the award is both a proud achievement and a powerful reminder of the impact that the team make together as they build the facilities that shape the future.

“We aim to continue setting new standards in high-tech engineering and construction and pushing the boundaries of technologies, with a focus on safety, sustainability, and excellence,” Tiew said.

IAQ is a regional leader in engineering design, procurement, construction services and turnkey solutions for high-tech facility industries.

Global Presence

Tiew said with a global presence spanning Malaysia, Singapore, China, and Europe, IAQ leverages diverse expertise and global insights to deliver exceptional results in every project.

He noted that IAQ has been invited by MNCs to expand in particular countries to support their expansion such as China and Europe.

“At the moment, we have four offices in Europe, starting with Poland. We are also present in France and Sweden, and, most recently, a month ago, we set up our office in Germany as we aim to serve companies like Intel and Infineon.

“Last week, I just came back from Germany to meet with all the investors in that area. They also recognise our efforts as well as the knowledge that IAQ has as a Malaysian company,” Tiew noted.

He said IAQ brings along all the Malaysian engineers that the company has trained internally abroad as a way to prove that Malaysia is capable enough to do better than a lot of European companies.

Digital adoption and sustainability

On another note, Tiew said IAQ’s clients do not only rely on the company’s construction expertise but also entrust it with the critical environments and advanced infrastructures that enable ground-breaking achievements in industries.

“The industries include semiconductors, biotechnology, photovoltaics, energy district cooling, and data centres.

“These industries not only drive technological innovation but also shape the way we live and work. This trust inspires us to continuously aim higher, embrace innovation, and deliver projects with unparalleled precision and quality,” he emphasised.

To meet its clients’ needs and standards, he said IAQ has adopted the latest in digital construction and project management, integrating advanced technologies such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Cloud Construction Management Systems into its processes.

Furthermore, he said sustainability is also a core part of the company’s mission, as high-tech facilities often require significant energy and resources, and IAQ is dedicated to finding greener solutions and building for a more sustainable future.

“Whether it is using eco-friendly materials or innovative designs that maximise energy efficiency, we are always striving to reduce our environmental footprint and support our clients’ sustainability goals,” he added.
