KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 26 (Bernama) -- The audience of nearly 2,000 who gathered for the ‘CIMB 100 Years & More Kita Bagi Jadi’ concert last Sunday evening were treated to a special surprise when Indonesian singer Cakra Khan took the stage as a guest performer.
The husky-voiced singer captured the audience’s attention as he performed a duet (‘Raise Me Up’) with Aina Abdul before delivering solo renditions of the upbeat ‘I'm Still Standing’ by Elton John and ‘Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now’ by Starship.
The ‘Kekasih Bayangan’ singer, whose real name is Cakra Konta Paryaman, showed off his energetic dance moves on stage, truly entertaining the excited crowd who responded with continuous cheers and applause.

Although he did not sing his own hits, Cakra Khan’s charisma managed to strike an emotional chord with the audience. His performance added to the lively atmosphere, leaving a lasting impression and sweet memories for those who came to watch.
The 100-minute concert, held in conjunction with CIMB’s 100-year anniversary, took place at the Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre here, and was enlivened by the performances of popular local artistes such as Datuk Zainal Abidin, Aina Abdul, Azlan Typewriter, Dayang Nurfaizah, Hael Husaini and Jaclyn Victor, as well as Sharifah Nurilmuhayati Syed Hussain or Scha Nuril, the first CIMB Rising Start 2024 Regional Champion.
Accompanied by the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO) under the direction of conductor Ahmad Muriz Che Rose, the event also featured special appearances by Datuk Azizulhasni Awang, Nadia Aqilah and Tony Eusoff as narrators.

Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil and Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan were also present at the concert.
The concert began promptly at 5.15 pm, with Dayang Nurfaizah setting the tone as she performed the classic ‘Puteri Santubong’, captivating the audience with her enchanting voice.
Adding to the magic, powerhouse vocalist Azlan Typewriter wowed the audience with his performances of ‘Lagu Untukmu’ and ‘Jangan Khianati Aku’, earning a standing ovation. He also teamed up with Scha Nuril for a duet ‘Bangkit Menggapai Bintang di Angkasa’ before the latter took the stage solo with ‘Kau Ilhamku’.

Veteran singer Zainal Abidin, meanwhile, showcased his enduring talent and energy, delighting fans with timeless hits such as ‘Senang-Senang’, ‘Orak Arek’ and ‘Hijau’.
Hael Husaini brought high-energy vibes with his dynamic and cheerful renditions of ‘Hoore! Hoore!’ (Sudirman), ‘Luar Biasa’ and ‘Money, Money, Money’ (ABBA).

Jaclyn Victor also stole the spotlight with her interaction with the crowd. She performed ‘Seribu Impian’ and dedicated her iconic hit ‘Gemilang’ to CIMB which was celebrating its 100-year milestone.
The concert concluded with a powerful collaboration by Jaclyn Victor, Scha Nuril and Aina Abdul, delivering ‘Warna’ and ‘Sinaran’, both iconic hits of Datuk Sheila Majid.
