KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 (Bernama) -- The Temple of Fine Arts (TFA) will host the Shantanand Festival of Arts (SFA) 2024 from tomorrow until Dec 1, exploring the timeless epic of the ‘Ramayana’ through performances, workshops and cultural showcases.
Themed ‘Echoes of the Past’, SFA 2024 will feature a bold reinterpretation of the ‘Ramayana’ through its headline production ‘I AM RA’ and other events.
TFA said in a statement that ‘I AM RA’ presents a reimagined perspective of the ‘Ramayana’ through the eyes of Ravana, the legendary antagonist, adding that the production delves into his complex personality, exploring themes of power, loyalty and conflict.
"This performance moves beyond Ravana’s traditional portrayal as a villain to reveal the layers of humanity in his character," it said.
‘I AM RA’ runs for three consecutive evenings from Nov 29 to Dec 1 at the Shantanand Auditorium here.
A ‘Ramayana’-themed gala dinner will be held on Nov 30 and Dec 1, featuring a curated menu inspired by the epic. Tickets for the festival are offered on a “pay-as-you-wish” basis with free seating.
