IPOH, Dec 4 (Bernama) -- The Perak government has implemented various initiatives and programmes to promote the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, targeting key groups such as government servants, entrepreneurs, and the community.

State Communications, Multimedia and Non-Governmental Organisation Committee chairman Mohd Azlan Helmi said the state government believed exposure to AI technology could enhance people’s living standards and improve service delivery efficiency to the people.

He explained that Digital Perak, as one of the state government agencies tasked with this role, had designed and implemented related programmes through its unit, the Innovation and Multimedia Hub (HiM).

According to Mohd Azlan, among the initiatives that had been implemented were AI training for government servants, seminars on AI for digital entrepreneurs, courses on using AI for social media platforms like TikTok, and periodic AI awareness briefings for communities and selected schools.

“Through all the planned activities, we hope to help address the gap in AI literacy and understanding among the community while further supporting the improvement of people’s quality of life through the use of AI technology applications,” he said.

He said this when winding up the debate on the 2025 Supply Enactment Bill and the 2025 Development Fund motion during the Perak State Legislative Assembly sitting here today.

Mohd Azlan said that the programme, which focused on empowering career opportunities through AI, had received an overwhelming response, with participation from job seekers, higher education students, relevant agencies, persons with disabilities, and those from the B40 group.
