KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 (Bernama) -- Bursa Malaysia ended the morning trading session on a mixed note, reflecting the slightly cautious market sentiment, in line with the sideways trading seen across Asian equities.
At 12.30 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 2.79 points, or 0.17 per cent, to 1,603.60, from Thursday’s close of 1,600.81.

ActivTrades trader Anderson Alves said the sideways trade in Asian markets is exacerbated by market participants awaiting the United States (US) Nonfarm Payrolls data later today.
Notably, he said higher bond yields globally, particularly from G7 countries, are starting to weigh on market positioning dynamics, pressuring both stocks and the foreign exchange market.
“Attention remains focused on potential trade policies under Trump as inauguration day approaches, while broader market sensitivity is expected to heighten with the release of key US jobs data later in the session,” he said.
