KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 17 (Bernama) -- World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) group managing director, Honorary Commander Prof Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim, has been conferred the Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia’s (UPNM) Outstanding Alumni Award, and appointed as an Alumni Ambassador.
The awards were presented during the UPNM Alumni Synergy Ceremony 2025, held at WTCKL this morning.
Introduced this year, the UPNM Outstanding Alumni Award celebrates alumni who have demonstrated exceptional excellence in their respective fields, and made significant contributions to the university, society, the nation, and the global community.
The award was presented by UPNM deputy vice-chancellor (Academic and International), Prof Datuk Dr Ahmad Mujahid Ahmad Zaidi.
Irmohizam, who is the first recipient of the award, expressed his gratitude for the recognition.
“I am truly honoured to accept the UPNM Outstanding Alumni Award and to be appointed as a UPNM Alumni Ambassador. I am excited and proud to be the first recipient of this prestigious award. My sincere gratitude to the university for this recognition. I will continue to work tirelessly in empowering and strengthening the UPNM alumni network, moving forward,” he said in a statement made available to Bernama.
During the ceremony, nine other alumni were also presented with letters of appointment as the university’s Alumni Ambassadors.
Irmohizam is currently pursuing his third Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), in Defence Management and Administration, at UPNM.
He also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Vice-Chancellor’s Office (Academic and International) at UPNM, and was awarded the Tuanku Chancellor’s Master’s Award (Social Science) by UPNM in 2023.
