SHAH ALAM, Feb 17 (Bernama) -- The swift action of police officers involved in a crash between a car and police truck on Jalan Bukit Cherakah, Klang, early this morning saved the car driver's life from a fiery end.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said four individuals, including three police officers, were involved in the incident.
He said they received information regarding the incident at 6.40 am and mobilised six firefighters from the Kapar Fire and Rescue Station to the location.
"The operations commander reported that the accident was believed to have resulted from a collision between the two vehicles.
"…at the time of the incident, the police officers involved rescued the driver who was conscious by breaking the window and pulling him out before the car was completely engulfed in flames," he said in a statement today.
Ahmad Mukhlis said the 56-year-old car driver and the police truck driver suffered a broken leg and arm, respectively. Meanwhile, the other two policemen sustained minor injuries.
According to him, the police truck driver managed to reverse the vehicle to prevent it from catching fire.
"All the victims were taken to Tunku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital, Klang for treatment," he added.
