Perlis To Host Quran Recitation And Memorisation Assembly In April

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 (Bernama) -- The national-level Quran Recitation and Memorisation Assembly 2025 will be held from April 27 to May 2 in Perlis.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar said the six-day event will take place at Dewan Wawasan 2020 in Kangar, from 9 am to 11 pm.

“The assembly will feature 112 participants from across the country, with each state represented by eight participants - two in the tilawah (recitation) category and six in the hafazan (memorisation),” he told Bernama.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to officiate the opening ceremony on April 27, while the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, is set to preside over the closing ceremony on May 2.

In September last year, the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) announced the state’s selection as the event host, with Mohd Na’im conveying the news to the Regent of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, during an audience.
