KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 (Bernama) -- A total of 166 individuals in the hardcore poor category in the Beserah and Semambu state constituencies in Pahang recently received assistance from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The assistance was presented by the Prime Minister's Political Secretary, Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi.
In his Facebook post, which was also shared by the Prime Minister, Ahmad Farhan said that for some, this assistance may seem like a small gesture, but for those who struggle daily with life's challenges, it represents a turning point.
“With a little financial relief, some are able to meet their basic needs, purchase school supplies for their children, and even plan for a more secure future.
“I hope this assistance serves as the first step toward building a better life for them. Under the leadership of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the MADANI government will continue to ensure that no one is left behind because every citizen deserves to share in the nation’s progress,” he posted.
Ahmad Farhan said that during the visit to the Indera Mahkota parliamentary constituency, he also witnessed the success of those who were once in the hardcore poor category but are now able to break free from that cycle.
“The success in lifting them out of the hardcore poor category is the result of integrated efforts, with continuous support from the government, as well as assistance from Zakat Pahang, the Department of Social Welfare (JKM), and the Rahmah Cash Aid (STR), which continue to serve as a strong pillar of support for those in need,” he added.
