IPOH, March 1 (Bernama) -- Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR) has distributed RM40,000 in schooling aid to 400 students from the B40 families in Beruas.
In a statement today, YBR said that the assistance is an incentive to help eligible students purchase school supplies.
It said that Senator Datuk Dr Azhar Ahmad officiated the YBR School Assistance ceremony at Dewan Inderawati Beruas, attended by YBR chief executive officer Syaiful Rizal Abdul Ghani and corporate communication department manager Mohamad Ghazali Zainal Abidin.
In the statement, Azhar thanked YBR for its continuous support in helping the disadvantaged. He also expressed hope that the foundation would expand its education-based initiatives across Perak.
Meanwhile, Syaiful Rizal hopes that the aid could ease the financial burden on parents.
He added that the assistance is YBR’s gesture of love for those in need while also motivating students to achieve excellent results.
According to YBR, throughout last year, 31,865 school students in 83 locations benefitted from this initiative, with an allocation of RM3.46 million.
Since its inception on May 16, 2007, YBR has been committed to helping less fortunate Malaysians, Bank Rakyat customers, and their children with initiatives in education and human capital development.
