JOHOR BAHRU, July 9 (Bernama) -- The 24-hour KSATRIA hotline service by the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) in Johor Bahru is not only available to Indonesian citizens but can also be used by Malaysians to report emergencies involving Indonesians.

Its Consul General, S. Sigit Widiyanto, said KSATRIA — short for KJRI Johor Bahru Selalu Ada Tanpa Ragu Lindungi Anda (KJRI Johor Bahru Always There Without Hesitation to Protect You) — is accessible not only to Indonesian migrant workers but also to Malaysians who have close ties with Indonesian nationals such as spouses, children, domestic helpers or colleagues.

"This hotline is not just for Indonesian citizens. Malaysians can also use it if they witness an Indonesian involved in an accident or emergency.

"In fact, for Malaysians with Indonesian spouses or children, or those employing Indonesian domestic helpers, or in cases involving the death of an Indonesian in Malaysia, they can contact this hotline for guidance or assistance," he told Bernama.

He was speaking after officiating the installation of a KSATRIA information board on the Mdm Express ferry at the Pasir Gudang Ferry Terminal here, which was also attended by Pasir Gudang Ferry Terminal General Manager Mohd Tuah Mohd Amin.

KSATRIA is a hotline service operated by both chatbot and real officers, providing information on passports, SPLP (Surat Perjalanan Laksana Paspor), work contracts and consulate operating hours.

Since its launch on April 2, 2023, KSATRIA has registered 14,176 users, received 3,676 reports, and resolved over 90 per cent of the cases.

According to Sigit, the most reported issues include the Migrant Repatriation Programme 2.0 (PRM 2.0), worker welfare and immigration matters.

He said the installation of KSATRIA information boards began at the Stulang Laut Ferry Terminal on June 24 and will be expanded to all ferry terminals within KJRI Johor Bahru’s jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, Mohd Tuah welcomed the initiative, saying the new information board at the terminal would help improve coordination in cases involving Indonesian nationals.

“In the past, when problems occurred, we would randomly contact KJRI officers. But with the KSATRIA hotline, it’s now easier, more organised, and faster to get assistance,” he said.

The KSATRIA hotline is accessible via QR code or by calling +010-5288040, and operates around the clock.
