KUCHING, Oct 14 (Bernama) -- The General Operations Force (GOF) Sarawak Brigade carried out 27 successful raids through the implementation of Op Taring from Sept 27 to Oct 13, with the total seizures valued at RM15.6 million.

Its commander, SAC Lim Bak Phai, said that as a result of the statewide operations, the GOF managed to curb the smuggling of cigarettes, liquor, controlled items, frozen products, sawn timber, as well as the distribution of counterfeit money in border areas and major cities.

"These successes show the efficiency of the intelligence team’s tactical actions and the capabilities of the field personnel, who not only detected and suppressed smuggling activities, but also arrested the individuals involved and seized various vehicles used for the crime,” he said in a statement today.
