SHAH ALAM, Oct 14 (Bernama) -- Petron Malaysia is stepping up its effort to help customers adapt to the implementation of BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) targeted subsidy programme through the Pasti OK campaign nationwide.

Petron Malaysia general manager Mohd Nizam Mansor said the campaign, involving 820 Petron petrol stations nationwide, with the opening of special BUDI95 counters that offered assistance and guidance to customers who are still confused about the method of refuelling.

"We also introduced a music video titled Semak, Bayar, Isi featuring Shamimi Amalina Norisham or better known as Mimi Fly as a more relaxed and easy way to disseminate information on the three easy steps to refuel BUDI95.

"We are committed to helping customers adapt to the changing fuel landscape under the new subsidy framework. We want customers to know that 'Pasti OK' is not just a slogan but a promise," he told reporters after launching the campaign at the Section 14 Petron petrol station, here today.

Mohd Nizam said the campaign also implemented the use of the 'Pasti OK' hand signal in Malaysian Sign Language (BIM) which is recognised by the Malaysian Federation of the Deaf (MFD) with the aim of creating a friendly and accessible environment for all customers with disabilities (OKU).

He said Petron was also prepared with several other initiatives if the BUDI95 payment system could not be accessed at the pump due to network disruption, with customers being able to continue to transact at the counter using the MyKasih or Touch 'n Go Digital facilities.

Mohd Nizam said his party is currently improving the existing system by introducing a new reward system using MyKad as a replacement for the Petron Miles (Pmiles) card.

"We are aware that change can cause uncertainty. "Therefore, we are committed to making this transition easier by providing an engaging experience at petrol stations with friendly, caring and inclusive staff," he said.

Through the BUDI95 targeted subsidy which began to be implemented on September 28, more than 16 million Malaysians are eligible to enjoy the subsidised price of RON95 at RM1.99 compared to RM2.60 per litre without subsidy.
