Ahmad Zahid Wants Malaysians To Be Partners In Cambodia’s Growth Story

PHNOM PENH, Oct 14 (Bernama) --  Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today urged Malaysians to continue supporting the development of Cambodia's economy.

Speaking at a dinner event with the Malaysian community in the capital, he said that Malaysians were among the pioneer investors in Cambodia and have built a remarkable reputation with Cambodian leaders.

He encouraged Malaysians to explore profitable sectors such as halal food, cosmetics, insurance, banking, and pharmaceuticals.

"Malaysians should be the spokespersons for the Visit Malaysia 2026 and work as a team, we must protect the image of Malaysia," he said. 

Ahmad Zahid is on a three-day visit to the Kingdom from Oct 13 -15. 

He is in Phnom Penh to attend the 13th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Disaster Management and the 14th Conference of the Parties to the ASEAN Agreement on Disaster Management and Emergency Response and Related Meetings.

This morning, he paid a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet at the Peace Palace and Senate President Hun Sen.
