PUTRAJAYA, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has called on the public to act responsibly and refrain from sharing, reposting, or uploading any content, including images or videos, that show the victim, other students, or the location of the recent student stabbing at a secondary school in Bandar Utama.

“Those who have already uploaded such content are advised to delete it immediately to respect the privacy and dignity of the victim’s family and to prevent interference with the ongoing investigation by the police,” MCMC said in a statement today.

MCMC also expressed condolences to the family of the 16-year-old female student who died in the incident.

The commission further reminded that distributing such content could lead to legal action under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588).

The incident, which occurred at about 9.30 am yesterday, involved a Form Four female student allegedly being stabbed by a male student.

The victim died at the scene, while the 14-year-old suspect, a student from the same school, has been arrested, according to Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Khalid Ismail.
