UK King Charles III to Begin State Visit to Vatican on Wednesday

MOSCOW, Oct 22 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- UK King Charles III and Queen Camilla will begin a two-day state visit to the Vatican on Wednesday, where they are scheduled to meet with Pope Leo XIV, Sputnik/RIA Novosti reported.

The visit will be a historic step in Anglican-Catholic relations, focusing on unity and environmental care.

For the first time in centuries, a joint prayer service will be held between the heads of the Catholic and Anglican churches.

The British royal couple's visit to the Vatican has been rescheduled after the original date was cancelled due to health issues of Leo's predecessor, Pope Francis.
