Top national pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik advanced with a solid 21-10, 24-22 victory over compatriots Ong Yew Sin–Teo Ee Yi and will take on Indonesia’s Sabar Karyaman Gutama-Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani next.
Youngsters Arif Junaidi-Yap Roy King continued Malaysia’s fine form in men’s doubles with a 21-12, 21-17 win over China’s Xie Haonan-Zeng Wei Han and will take on Indonesia’s eighth seeds Fajar Alfian-Muhammad Shohibul Fikri next.
In women’s doubles, Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah maintained their momentum with a confident 22-20, 21-15 victory over China’s Bao Li Jing–Zhang Shu Xian.
The Malaysian pair will next meet China’s Chen Qing Chen-Jia Yi Fan, who lead their head-to-head record 8-1.
