KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 25 (Bernama) -- The Putrajaya mass transit train (MRT) line has been disrupted following the ongoing signal system upgrade works.
Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd (Rapid Rail), in a statement today, said its technical and engineering teams are working diligently to restore service operations as soon as possible.
"To facilitate passenger travel, 40 free shuttle buses are being provided to operate continuously between Kwasa Damansara Station and Putrajaya Sentral," the statement said.
Rapid Rail also recommends passengers to use other alternative services, such as the Ampang/Sri Petaling Line and Monorail for those at the Titiwangsa MRT Station, and the Kelana Jaya Line for passengers at the Ampang Park and Persiaran KLCC MRT Stations.
Passengers at the TRX MRT Station are encouraged to use the Kajang Line, while those at the Chan Sow Lin and Sungai Besi MRT Stations are advised to take the Ampang/Sri Petaling Line.
According to Rapid Rail, passengers who wish to continue their journey to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) are advised to use the Ampang/Sri Petaling Line to Bandar Tasik Selatan Station before boarding the Express Rail Link (ERL) from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) to the airport.
Passengers in the city centre can continue to use the ERL service from KL Sentral to the KLIA Terminal.
For the time being, trains will be manually operated between Kwasa Damansara Station to Putrajaya Sentral and will stop longer at each station to ensure safety and smooth travel.
“As a precautionary measure, auxiliary police personnel and station staff have been placed on the platforms and concourses to assist passengers if needed,” it said.
Rapid Rail also advised passengers to refer to Rapid KL’s social media pages for information and the latest developments on the status of the service and apologised for any inconvenience caused.
