'Rancakkan MADANI Sabah’ Programme Platform To Strengthen unity

KOTA KINABALU, Nov 9 (Bernama) -- Over 2,000 participants, comprising civil servants, community leaders, non-governmental organisations, youth and local communities, attended the 'Rancakkan MADANI Sabah’ (Invigorate MADANI Sabah) programme at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here today.

The programme, organised by Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia (AKM) of the Prime Minister's Department, was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Also present were Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil and Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa.

The AKM, in a press release, said that the programme is an important platform towards strengthening the understanding and appreciation of the Malaysia MADANI concept.

"… based on the values of humanity, well-being and social responsibility towards building a united community and prosperous nation,” it added.

 The statement added that the programme proved the government's commitment to ensuring that the values of justice, sustainability and well-being are truly understood and practised by everyone.

"This includes at the grassroots level and Sabah has great potential in various sectors, such as tourism and modern agriculture, which is capable of making this state a pillar of strength and a driver of national development,” it added.

The programme also emphasised the importance of close cooperation between the Federal Government and the Sabah government for them to move like a family to ensure the development and welfare of the people are implemented comprehensively and inclusively.
