KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Chamber of Company Directors (MCCD) has appointed Datuk Julita Ilhani Abdul Jabbar as its chairman, effective Nov 11, 2025, following the chamber’s official reactivation in October 2025.

In a statement today, MCCD said the chamber also appointed Amarution Nadaraja as the deputy chairman.

“Julita will guide MCCD’s transformation into a progressive platform connecting directors, policymakers, and industry leaders, while strengthening governance, fostering innovation and accelerating small and medium enterprises’ (SMEs) empowerment to support Malaysia’s economic resilience,” it said.

MCCD noted that Julita, a seasoned legal and corporate professional, has extensive experience in governance, mediation, policy development, and board advisory, as well as a strong foundation in law and strategic leadership.

Recognising the critical role of SMEs in inclusive growth, the chamber said MCCD will spearhead the establishment of the SME MADANI Action Council, a collaborative public-private initiative uniting economic non-governmental organisations, industry leaders, academia, and corporate partners.

“The SME-MAC will focus on enhancing SME competitiveness, driving digital transformation and expanding participation in the green and social economy, empowering Malaysian enterprises to rise as ‘Jaguh PMKS Serantau’ (Regional SME Champion), rooted in sustainability and innovation,” Julita added.
