KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 (Bernama) -- Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail today congratulated all Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) personnel for ensuring the smooth running of the recent 47th ASEAN Summit.

He said the success reflected the strong commitment shown by every officer involved and thanked the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) for coordinating VIP movements safely throughout the event.

He also acknowledged the contributions of the Special Branch, the Internal Security and Public Order Department (JKDNKA) and other units responsible for security during the summit.

Mohd Khalid additionally prayed for the recovery of two traffic officers injured in an accident while on duty.

The summit and its related meetings were held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from Oct 26 to 28 under Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025, themed Inclusivity and Sustainability.

In another development, Mohd Khalid announced that PDRM had earned a Silver Award in its first participation in the 2025 Integrity, Governance and Anti-Corruption Awards (AIGA), describing it as recognition of the force’s strong internal controls, integrity-based compliance culture and leadership commitment.

He reminded PDRM leaders to tighten oversight to prevent misconduct, stressing that no compromise would be given to any officer involved in wrongdoing.

Mohd Khalid also urged greater attention to mental health issues within the force, calling on supervisors to be alert to behavioural changes, emotional stress or signs of depression arising from personal or work pressures.
