Two Boys On Bicycle Die After Being Hit By Car In Yan

ALOR SETAR, Nov 22 (Bernama) -- Two boys were killed when a car crashed into the bicycle they were riding on in Kampung Sedaka Tengah, near Yan, today.

Yan Police Chief Supt Mohamad Hamizi Abdullah said both boys, 10 and 11, died at the scene from severe head injuries.

"Police received a call from a member of the public at 9.25 am about an accident involving a car and a bicycle ridden by two boys.

"The bodies of both victims have been sent to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, Alor Setar, for post-mortem examination," he said in a statement today, adding that the car driver has been detained and his urine screening test returned negative.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, he added.
