In a statement today, the Penang Chief Minister’s Office said the visit also serves as a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strengthening friendly and cooperative relations signed between both governments in April this year.
“Since then, ties between Penang and Anhui have continued to deepen, building solid mutual trust and laying a strong foundation for comprehensive and pragmatic cooperation in the years ahead.
“The visit also at the invitation of the Anhui Provincial People's Government,” according to the statement.
During the visit, Chow is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the Governor of Anhui Province, Wang Qingxian and hold discussions with leaders from both the Anhui Provincial Government and the Hefei Municipal Government on matters covering investment, technological innovation and other areas of shared interest.
The Chief Minister will also visit several enterprises and scientific research institutions in Hefei to observe developments in semiconductors, quantum technology, advanced manufacturing and frontier scientific research.
These engagements are expected to help identify collaborative opportunities and potential synergies for Penang’s industrial ecosystem.
