KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 27 (Bernama) -- Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia graced the ‘Symphony of Friendship 2.0’ concert held at the Dewan Philharmonic Petronas last night.

The concert, organised by the Raja Zarith Sofiah of Johor Foundation (YRZSNJ) and Singapore’s Temasek Foundation, stands as a testament to the enduring strength of collaboration, friendship and shared purpose between Malaysia and Singapore.

“We celebrate the remarkable ability of music to unite communities and nurture deeper understanding between our two nations,” The Queen said in a post shared on the Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar Facebook page today.

“All of us are aware about the uncertainties, natural calamities and conflicts which burden many parts of the world. Yet music, unbound by nationality, ethnicity, social standing or background, speaks to all of us and reaches every heart. It reminds us of shared humanity,” she added.

The concert marked the second edition of the collaboration, following the inaugural performance in 2023 at the Permaisuri Zarith Sofiah Opera House in Johor Bahru.

This year’s edition featured an inclusive performance line-up comprising the Malaysia Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO), musicians from the Education Ministry and Singapore’s The Purple Symphony, along with special appearances by Jaclyn Victor, Nadeera and Suki Low.

Her Majesty was received on arrival by the Prime Minister’s wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and Datin Paduka Ho Ching, wife of former Singapore Prime Minister Datuk Lee Hsien Loong.

Also present were YRZSNJ chief executive officer (CEO) Hishamudin Abd Rahim and Temasek Foundation CEO Ng Boon Heong.
