SHAH ALAM, Nov 27 (Bernama) -- Selangor Halalvibe Fest 2025, which began today, is targeting RM3 million in sales transactions over its four-day run at Dataran Karnival, Stadium Shah Alam, here.
State Islamic Religious and Innovation Culture Committee chairman Dr Mohammad Fahmi Ngah said the festival, one of the initiatives to strengthen the halal agenda in Selangor, featured nearly 300 booths involving halal food and beverage producers as well as service-based enterprises.
“This programme is organised together with Halal International Selangor (HIS Toyyiba Sdn Bhd) as the implementing agency, and it serves as an excellent platform to showcase halal and halal-certified products in Selangor, as well as products currently undergoing the halal certification process.
“The Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, is also expected to grace the event this Sunday and participate in the scheduled activities. The public is invited to attend, with the festival open from 10 am to 11 pm,” he told reporters after officiating the event here today.
Commenting on Selangor’s position in Malaysia’s halal industry, Mohammad Fahmi said the state was among those with the largest halal industry capacity, with around 70 per cent of all halal-certified companies in the country operating in Selangor.
He said the Selangor government was also undertaking several measures to further strengthen the industry ecosystem, including identifying halal warehouses and logistics hubs to develop suitable halal facilities.
“What we are doing to enhance the state’s halal ecosystem includes simplifying and expediting the halal certification process, where we guarantee that first-time products undergoing this process will take no more than 30 days — or the fees will be refunded.
“We also help market halal products through events like this, and next year, we will explore collaboration with a leading digital platform to launch a digital Selangor Halal Store for both domestic and international markets,” he said.
The Halalvibe Fest 2025 also includes a Halal Certification Seminar, business matching sessions, halal awareness presentations, and pitching activities to provide networking and capital access opportunities for entrepreneurs.
Earlier, today’s programme also witnessed the signing of three memoranda of understanding (MoU) between Halal International Selangor (HIS) and Yayasan Hijrah Selangor, Universiti Selangor (UNISEL), as well as Vital Life Solutions Sdn Bhd.
The MoU with Yayasan Hijrah Selangor includes implementing a Halal Certification Financing Package for entrepreneurs, while the agreement with UNISEL focuses on developing halal human capital through joint training, research collaboration and student industrial placements.
The cooperation with Vital Life Solutions Sdn Bhd — a company specialising in sertu (Islamic purification method) product development using Clay Water Enzyme (CWE) technology — involves HIS acting as the exclusive strategic partner for the international market.
It also covers product development, quality compliance, halal certification facilitation, supply chain logistics support and participation in trade programmes to bolster the global competitiveness of the halal industry.
